Description:
We’re offering a Clinical Psychologist Trainee position for someone who’s deeply curious about the human mind and passionate about helping others through evidence-based care — no prior experience required, just empathy, ethics, and a willingness to learn. You’ll assist licensed psychologists with case preparation, session planning, and the daily structure of therapeutic work. We’ll teach you how to observe therapeutic sessions with clinical intent — noting not just what’s said, but how it’s said. You’ll shadow therapy sessions (when appropriate), take observational notes, and participate in post-session discussions. Expect to support the creation of psychoeducational materials, therapy tools, and reflective exercises for clients. You’ll gain exposure to various treatment methods such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and psychoeducation. We’ll guide you in writing session summaries that are factual, respectful, and clinically useful. You’ll assist in building treatment plans and tracking client progress through clinical documentation. You’ll also assist in research, journal reviews, or program development for mental health education workshops.
Basic Qualifications:
- Diagnose mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or personality disorders.
- Recognize when to refer patients to higher levels of care or specialized services.
- Document all sessions, treatment plans, and diagnoses in line with legal and ethical standards.
- Be mindful of insurance, billing, and documentation for clients using healthcare plans.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
Preferred:
- Open to working with diverse populations and addressing cultural, social, or identity-related topics in therapy.
- Can maintain accurate records for case reviews, insurance compliance, or research purposes.
- Enjoys helping individuals build insight, emotional regulation, and resilience.
- Willing to coordinate with psychiatrists, social workers, or primary care providers as part of a care team.
- Able to build therapeutic rapport while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Benefits:
- Remote or in-person — whatever helps you support clients best.
- Training budget for certifications, conferences, and deep dives into your niche.
- Work in a space where empathy is valued as much as expertise.
- Diverse caseload — we match clients based on your strengths and interests.
- We care about outcomes, not how many hours you clock.
We’ll guide you in managing emotional regulation, transference, and your own reactions while in a clinical environment. You’ll also support wellness initiatives, outreach programs, or psychoeducation materials under clinical guidance. This role is ideal for someone who is thoughtful, ethical, and willing to grow through both study and experience. You’ll gain insight into diverse mental health conditions, social factors, and treatment environments. You’ll leave with real insight into the mental health field — and a clearer understanding of your path within it. By the end of your traineeship, you’ll understand the foundations of clinical psychology and how psychologists support healing and change. You’ll have a stronger sense of what it means to be a psychologist — and what’s required to become one. If you’re ready to support the healing process and start your path in clinical psychology — this is your first step.
