Description:
We’re hiring a CNC Machine Operator Trainee for our smart production floor — where automation, precision, and continuous improvement work hand in hand. You’ll work alongside experienced machinists who will teach you how to run high-precision equipment safely, efficiently, and with pride in every part you help produce. You’ll start by shadowing experienced machinists who work with titanium, hardened steel, and aerospace-grade alloys — and you’ll see firsthand why every detail matters. You’ll learn how to prepare the machine for production: zeroing axes, setting work offsets, loading tool libraries, and confirming safety protocols step by step. You’ll learn the differences in cutting speeds, coolant flow, and insert selection when machining something that fights back with every revolution. You’ll run aluminum, stainless, or plastics — and start to understand how different materials behave under speed, feed, and coolant changes. You’ll assist in preparing tools, changing inserts, cleaning chips, and keeping the work area safe, tidy, and ready for production. You’ll be responsible for first-part inspection, documenting dimensions, and flagging anything out of spec before it becomes scrap. You’ll follow safety protocols rigorously, using PPE and guarding systems to protect yourself and your team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Ultimately, ensure precision parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and safely—supporting the backbone of modern manufacturing.
- Adhere to company policies regarding production schedules, timekeeping, and safety protocols.
- Support continuous improvement by offering ideas for tooling, process flow, or cycle time reductions.
- Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE when working with machinery, sharp tools, or hot surfaces.
- Help reduce waste by optimizing material usage, avoiding rework, and catching errors early in the production process.
Preferred:
- Capable of maintaining clean, safe, and organized workstations.
- Wants to grow into roles like CNC Programmer, Lead Operator, or Manufacturing Technician.
- Knows how to enter or modify G-code and understands CNC programming basics.
- Familiar with safety procedures in a machine shop environment, including use of PPE.
- Experience running quality checks and documenting measurements for QA reporting.
Benefits:
- Get recognized for doing solid work — no need to be loud to be seen.
- Supervisors who actually listen and help, not just bark orders.
- Team lunches, tool upgrade votes, and music on the floor (within reason).
- Coffee’s always hot, breaks are always respected.
- Work in a place where things get built — see your impact every day.
You’ll ask questions, take notes, and build technical habits that stay with you long after the internship ends. You’ll work closely with engineers, supervisors, and quality control to make sure each piece meets customer and production standards. You’ll help maintain machines that require tight alignment, fine-tuned balancing, and daily checks to stay production-ready. You’ll work in a calm, focused environment where speed comes only after consistency, and no one rushes what must be exact. You’ll be expected to stay organized, meet production goals, and contribute to a clean, efficient workspace. You’ll operate with consistency, focus, and a respect for craftsmanship that goes beyond just pressing "start. You’ll finish this internship with real hands-on skill, industry vocabulary, and a clear sense of whether this path is truly yours. If you’re curious, careful, and ready to grow in a place where craftsmanship meets technology — we’re ready to train you. ” If you value quiet focus, technical skill, and the satisfaction of solo work done well — we’re ready to train you after dark.
