Description:

We’re hiring a Plumber Trainee to assist with residential building maintenance — perfect for someone who wants steady, practical work helping tenants and maintaining vital systems every day. You’ll begin by shadowing senior maintenance plumbers in apartment buildings, learning how to diagnose and respond to common household plumbing issues. You’ll assist in cutting, measuring, and fitting PVC, copper, and PEX piping under supervision. You’ll be trained to identify basic plumbing components like pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures. You’ll be trained to install water lines, waste systems, vent stacks, and pipe sleeves with correct slope and spacing. You’ll help prep bathrooms, kitchens, and utility rooms for future fixtures by positioning lines and testing pressure. You’ll support seasonal boiler maintenance — cleaning burners, checking ignition, inspecting flue vents, and adjusting settings. You’ll assist in installing sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and basic filtration systems. You’ll help document service calls, note parts used, and explain findings to clients under supervision.

Basic Qualifications:

• Collaborate with construction teams, electricians, and HVAC technicians on site projects.
• Wear protective gear and use ladders, scaffolding, or trenching tools when required.
• Adapt quickly when unexpected issues arise mid-job and offer practical solutions.
• Install appliances like dishwashers, water softeners, or sump pumps as needed.
• Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials like sewage or gas lines.

Preferred:

• Wants to grow into roles like Master Plumber, Project Foreman, or Plumbing Business Owner.
• Can adapt to residential renovations, new construction sites, or facility maintenance roles.
• Knows how to properly install water heaters, pumps, garbage disposals, and backflow prevention devices.
• Background or passion in mechanical systems, construction, or hands-on trades.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials, stand or kneel for extended periods, and work outdoors or in harsh conditions.
