Description:
We’re looking for a Clinical Psychologist Trainee who’s ready to observe, learn, and grow in a professional mental health setting — no clinical experience required, just compassion, focus, and a genuine desire to help people heal. You’ll assist with preparing client records, anonymizing data, and reviewing session outlines under supervision. We’ll teach you how to handle sensitive client data, organize psychological assessments, and recognize patterns in client behavior. You’ll shadow therapy sessions (when appropriate), take observational notes, and participate in post-session discussions. Expect to be involved in both individual and group therapy contexts, depending on your supervisor and placement. We’ll walk you through how psychologists conduct assessments, build treatment plans, and set therapeutic goals. We’ll help you understand the importance of tone, boundaries, and neutrality in every therapeutic interaction. We’ll teach you how to recognize signs of trauma, dissociation, or defense mechanisms — and respond appropriately within your trainee scope. You’ll also learn how psychologists maintain boundaries, manage ethical dilemmas, and care for themselves while caring for others.
Basic Qualifications:
- Respect cultural, gender, and socioeconomic differences in every aspect of your clinical work.
- Protect client confidentiality at all times and stay informed on relevant legal regulations.
- Recognize when to refer patients to higher levels of care or specialized services.
- Advocate for mental health awareness and destigmatization in your practice or institution.
- Balance a demanding caseload while avoiding burnout through supervision and self-care.
Preferred:
- Understands legal responsibilities including informed consent, mandatory reporting, and HIPAA compliance.
- Able to build therapeutic rapport while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Experienced in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, or neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Proficient in applying therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, or psychodynamic therapy.
- Organized with session scheduling, intake documentation, and referral coordination.
Benefits:
- You won’t be buried in paperwork — streamlined systems let you focus on people.
- Your clinical opinion matters — you're not just a box-checker.
- Access to premium therapy tools, diagnostics, and psychological resources.
- We celebrate your wins — even the small therapeutic breakthroughs.
- We encourage self-care, not just client care.
We’ll guide you in managing emotional regulation, transference, and your own reactions while in a clinical environment. You’ll reflect on your own emotional responses and learn how to stay grounded in intense or emotional clinical moments. This role is perfect for someone who doesn’t seek the spotlight but wants to become someone people can trust. We’ll support your development with case discussions, weekly supervision, and exposure to multiple clinical styles. We’ll support your professional growth with supervision, guided readings, and real conversations about clinical work. By the end of the traineeship, you’ll be equipped with core psychological concepts and first-hand observations of therapy in practice. You’ll leave with experience, insight, and a renewed understanding of what it means to hold space for others. If you’re ready to support the healing process and start your path in clinical psychology — this is your first step.
