Description:

We’re hiring a Courier Trainee for long-distance and intercity deliveries — someone who’s responsible, focused, and ready to learn how to handle critical shipments across regions. You’ll start by learning your delivery zone — the shortcuts, building entrances, and customer preferences that help save time. You’ll learn how to plan multi-stop routes, factoring in rest breaks, fuel, traffic, and deadlines. You’ll be trained to use route apps and delivery platforms to track orders and mark successful drop-offs. You’ll practice organizing deliveries by floor, office, or client — keeping efficiency and punctuality as top priorities. You’ll help with light paperwork like delivery logs, signatures, and receipts, ensuring all documentation is accurate. You’ll support pickups as well — collecting returns, business shipments, or signed documents along your route. You’ll communicate with dispatch in real time and notify them of successful deliveries or unexpected delays. You’ll receive safety guidance on navigating traffic, avoiding busy intersections, and protecting packages in transit.

Basic Qualifications:

• Inspect and maintain your vehicle or delivery equipment to ensure reliability throughout the day.
• Follow specific handling instructions for perishable, medical, or hazardous items.
• Ensure all packages are delivered to the correct address and secured if no one is available.
• Handle items with care, especially fragile, time-sensitive, or confidential materials.
• Report vehicle issues, delivery problems, or incidents to supervisors as needed.

Preferred:

• Familiar with using delivery tracking apps or handheld scanners to update order statuses in real time.
• Capable of handling cash-on-delivery payments, mobile transactions, or receipts when needed.
• Can communicate professionally with dispatchers, clients, or coworkers during the delivery process.
• Understands safety practices for road use, parking, weather conditions, and personal security.
• Can follow instructions from dispatchers, apps, or printed routes without getting overwhelmed.
