Description:

We’re hiring a Shoe Repair Specialist who specializes in athletic and casual footwear — perfect for someone who understands the mechanics of sneakers, active shoes, and performance wear. You’ll handle walk-in repairs from customers looking for quick fixes, custom upgrades, and same-day results. You’ll be trained to patch mesh, replace worn midsoles, fix heel drag, and reattach toe guards or outsoles. You’ll be trained to operate portable tools and battery-powered machines safely and efficiently within small spaces. You’ll learn how to use micro-sanders, needle stitchers, and hand-finishing tools to restore like-new condition without altering original structure. You’ll assist with protective sole installations, custom taps, heel plates, and invisible sole guards for designer footwear. You’ll assess each pair carefully, recommending repairs or alternatives based on structure, material, and cost. You’ll help organize tickets, track turnaround times, and notify clients when repairs are ready for pickup. You’ll assist with dye touch-ups, color matching, and leather blending for premium shoe restoration.

Basic Qualifications:

• Customize insoles or inserts for orthopedic needs or comfort improvements.
• Apply protective treatments like waterproofing, dyes, or sole guards when requested.
• Perform quality control checks before returning items to ensure satisfaction.
• Ensure high-quality workmanship while meeting turnaround times and deadlines.
• Take pride in extending the life of well-loved items and reducing waste through craftsmanship.

Preferred:

• Capable of identifying structural damage and recommending realistic, cost-effective solutions.
• Familiar with waterproofing treatments, custom dyeing, and professional polishing techniques.
• Wants to grow into roles like Head Cobbler, Workshop Owner, or Artisan Footwear Designer.
• Able to replace or repair heels, patch holes, stretch tight shoes, and shine or polish various finishes.
• Able to handle a high volume of repairs while maintaining consistent quality and attention to detail.
