Description:

We’re hiring a beginner Gardener / Landscaper who wants to turn hard work and sunlight into something beautiful. You don’t need a green thumb yet — we’ll help you grow it, one plant at a time. You’ll start with the fundamentals: watering, raking, digging, and helping prepare soil and spaces for planting. We’ll show you how to care for native plants, support pollinators, and use sustainable gardening practices. You’ll learn how to identify common plants, trim bushes, remove weeds, and lay down mulch the right way. You’ll begin to recognize plant types, understand soil conditions, and learn how sunlight and water affect growth. You’ll use rakes, trowels, hedge trimmers, and more — always with proper guidance and safety. We’ll teach you how to shape hedges, edge walkways, spread fertilizer, and care for trees and shrubs. We’ll guide you through tool safety, plant identification, and eco-friendly techniques that protect local ecosystems.

Basic Qualifications:

• Adjust and maintain irrigation systems—checking for leaks, broken sprinkler heads, or scheduling issues.
• Design and install garden layouts, flower beds, irrigation systems, and decorative features like walkways, rock borders, or lighting.
• Read and follow site plans, blueprints, or garden designs to install and maintain landscapes accurately.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or mulch as needed to promote plant health and control pests or weeds according to environmental regulations.
• Transport soil, compost, rocks, or plants using wheelbarrows, carts, or light machinery as needed on-site.

Preferred:

• Willing to assist with hardscaping tasks such as laying stones, borders, or light pathway construction.
• Values precision, natural beauty, and the satisfaction of maintaining healthy outdoor spaces.
• Experience maintaining gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas in residential or commercial settings.
• Can communicate with clients in a friendly and professional manner to understand landscaping needs.
• Wants to grow into roles like Lead Gardener, Landscape Designer, or Grounds Supervisor.
