Description:
We’re looking for a Barista Trainee who’s curious about the craft of coffee and wants to be part of a thoughtful, people-centered café. You’ll start by learning how to calibrate espresso machines, grind beans to spec, and prepare pour-over setups with care. You’ll greet regulars by name, remembering their go-to orders and making their mornings smoother with quick, friendly service. You’ll assist with brewing methods like V60, Chemex, AeroPress, and learn what makes each cup unique. You’ll learn how to steam milk, pull shots, and begin to craft basic espresso-based drinks to standard. You’ll support snack and pastry service — warming items, restocking displays, and handling food with hygiene and care. You’ll learn how to work clean and fast, keeping your station tidy while handling multiple drink tickets at once. You’ll get familiar with how to pace yourself during busy hours and stay efficient without sacrificing quality or care. You’ll help track supplies, restock fridges, and notify the team when anything runs low.
Basic Qualifications:
- Memorize the menu, including seasonal specials and alternative options for dietary needs.
- Take pride in every cup—because for someone, it’s the best part of their day.
- Ensure proper brewing techniques, milk frothing, and latte art for a great visual and taste experience.
- Keep track of ingredient levels and restock supplies like beans, syrups, cups, and napkins as needed.
- Customize drinks based on preferences—milk alternatives, extra shots, flavors, or temperatures.
Preferred:
- Open to learning seasonal drink menus, new preparation methods, and promotional offerings.
- Enjoys creating small moments of connection with every cup served.
- Wants to grow into roles like Shift Lead, Head Barista, or Café Manager.
- Can manage opening/closing tasks including cash handling, cleaning, and prepping for the next shift.
- Capable of supporting team members and stepping into other roles when necessary for smooth operations.
Benefits:
- You’re not just on the register — you’ll steam, shake, pour, and impress.
- Flexible shifts — early birds, closers, students, side-hustlers welcome.
- We respect your time — no unpaid side work or guilt texts on your day off.
- We celebrate latte art fails just as much as the masterpieces.
- Team outings, early tastings, and the occasional experimental drink fest.
You’ll practice greeting regulars by name and making newcomers feel instantly at home in the space. You’ll be introduced to basic coffee knowledge — from bean origins and roast profiles to flavor notes and brewing methods. You’ll help maintain a polished space — from spotless counters to properly aligned chairs, making sure every part of the café feels intentional. You’ll receive feedback daily and be mentored by experienced baristas who love sharing what they know. We’ll teach you to serve coffee that’s consistent, quick, and still made with care. This internship is perfect for someone who wants to explore café culture from the inside and learn fast by doing. Whether you stay for a season or make this your new craft, we’ll make sure you leave with skills, confidence, and great coffee instincts. Let’s make every cup meaningful — for the guest, for the team, and for you.
