Description:

We’re looking for a Pastry Decorator who specializes in turning imagination into edible reality — someone who loves crafting one-of-a-kind cakes and desserts that make every celebration unforgettable. You’ll be responsible for decorating a wide variety of baked goods, from birthday cakes and wedding tiers to seasonal pastries and signature desserts. You’ll work closely with the baking team to ensure all items are decorated and ready for display, pickup, or delivery on time. You’ll collaborate with executive chefs and planners to ensure every creation aligns with theme, palette, and overall event aesthetic. We’ll rely on you to sculpt figurines, hand-pipe floral patterns, and create custom toppers with precision and personality. You’ll also prepare décor elements in advance and ensure all materials are food-safe, fresh, and visually consistent. You’ll also prep ingredients and decorations ahead of time to streamline the decorating process and reduce downtime. You’ll test and refine new design ideas, contributing to seasonal collections and exclusive client offerings. You’ll also guide clients on what’s possible (and what’s not), balancing creative ambition with practical execution.

Basic Qualifications:

• Decorate cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and pastries with precision, creativity, and consistency.
• Help train junior decorators or assistants in techniques, standards, and safe handling.
• Stay current on trends in pastry art, color palettes, and themed styling.
• Clean and maintain tools like piping tips, spatulas, and airbrush kits for long-term use.
• Document and label orders to avoid mix-ups, especially with personalized messages or complex designs.

Preferred:

• Experience decorating cakes, cupcakes, pastries, or cookies for events, bakeries, or custom orders.
• Knows how to adapt designs for dietary needs, such as gluten-free or vegan orders.
• Can work under time pressure during peak seasons or special event weekends.
• Knows how to handle delicate decorations, temperature-sensitive ingredients, and storage requirements.
• Familiar with various icing types such as buttercream, royal icing, ganache, and fondant for different styles and textures.
