Description:

We’re hiring a skilled and meticulous Transcriptionist to join our team and provide accurate, high-quality transcriptions for various projects. You’ll be responsible for transcribing various types of audio and video files, including interviews, webinars, podcasts, and meetings. You’ll ensure all transcripts are clear, complete, and error-free, accurately reflecting the content of the audio. You’ll ensure that all transcriptions are clear, organized, and meet client requirements, including timestamps and special formatting requests. You’ll handle confidential and sensitive information, maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion at all times. You’ll be working with diverse content, including legal, medical, and technical audio, requiring specialized knowledge for accuracy. You’ll collaborate with clients to ensure that transcriptions meet their needs and are delivered promptly.

Basic Qualifications:

• Handle rush orders or urgent transcription requests while still meeting quality expectations.
• Transcribe in multiple languages or accents (if multilingual) or follow regional spelling/grammar preferences (e.g., US vs. UK English).
• Stay focused during long sessions—transcription requires mental stamina and active listening.
• Provide captioning or subtitle files (SRT, VTT) when needed, syncing dialogue to timecodes accurately.
• Mark unclear audio with timestamps or tags (e.g., [inaudible], [crosstalk]) and follow up when clarification is needed.

Preferred:

• Comfortable working with audio that includes accents, background noise, or technical terminology.
• Excellent listening skills and attention to detail when transcribing audio or video files.
• Able to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
• Can accept feedback and revise transcripts based on reviewer comments or preferences.
• Background or interest in writing, linguistics, journalism, or data entry.
