Description:

We’re hiring a CNC Machine Operator Trainee for our night shift — someone who’s ready to learn, stay focused, and take real responsibility even when the shop is quiet. You don’t need experience, but you do need to be serious about learning a skill that takes time, focus, and care. You’ll be trained by day-shift machinists first, learning the machines, safety procedures, and how to run production step by step. You’ll learn how to prepare the machine for production: zeroing axes, setting work offsets, loading tool libraries, and confirming safety protocols step by step. You’ll learn the differences in cutting speeds, coolant flow, and insert selection when machining something that fights back with every revolution. You’ll start with basics: loading raw material, inspecting tools, checking coolant levels, and keeping logs of every cycle you run. You’ll be expected to monitor not just part quality, but machine behavior — temperature drifts, spindle load spikes, tool chatter — and react with calm precision. You’ll get comfortable navigating CNC control panels — not just pushing buttons, but understanding what each one does and why. You’ll measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, and double-check your numbers before moving forward.

Basic Qualifications:

• Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE when working with machinery, sharp tools, or hot surfaces.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or CMM equipment to ensure they meet dimensional and quality standards.
• Adhere to company policies regarding production schedules, timekeeping, and safety protocols.
• Keep a clean, organized workstation to prevent accidents and support an efficient workflow.
• Train or assist junior operators when needed—sharing best practices and helping them build foundational machining skills.

Preferred:

• Can work independently or with minimal supervision while meeting production targets.
• Familiar with safety procedures in a machine shop environment, including use of PPE.
• Understands how to load materials, set up tooling, and perform basic machine calibrations.
• Open to working multiple shifts, including nights or weekends based on plant schedules.
• Willing to assist with tool changes, fixture setup, or process improvements.
