Description:

We’re hiring a Plumber Trainee who’s ready to learn hands-on skills, assist experienced professionals, and grow into a reliable, certified tradesperson. You’ll begin by shadowing senior maintenance plumbers in apartment buildings, learning how to diagnose and respond to common household plumbing issues. You’ll assist in cutting, measuring, and fitting PVC, copper, and PEX piping under supervision. You’ll be trained to diagnose issues on the spot and assist with temporary fixes that stabilize the situation. You’ll help install expansion tanks, pressure relief valves, and other key components that ensure safe system function. You’ll support drain cleaning using snakes, augers, or hydro-jetting equipment to clear stubborn clogs fast. You’ll be taught to use tools like pipe cutters, torches, augers, wrenches, and pressure testers with safety and care. You’ll assist in installing sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and basic filtration systems. You’ll help unpack, assemble, and prep water heaters, toilets, bathtubs, faucets, and other fixtures for finish work.

Basic Qualifications:

• Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials like sewage or gas lines.
• Uphold cleanliness and professionalism—leave every job site better than you found it.
• Install appliances like dishwashers, water softeners, or sump pumps as needed.
• Be punctual, reliable, and respectful in clients’ homes or workplaces.
• Stay current with plumbing technologies, eco-friendly systems, and efficient fixtures.

Preferred:

• Familiar with both residential and commercial plumbing systems including kitchens, bathrooms, and utility lines.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials, stand or kneel for extended periods, and work outdoors or in harsh conditions.
• Able to provide accurate cost estimates, timelines, and scope of work before beginning a job.
• Enjoys solving real-world problems with practical solutions and skilled craftsmanship.
• Willing to work in tight spaces, crawlspaces, basements, or rooftops depending on the job site.
