Description:

We’re hiring a Shoe Repair Specialist to restore high-end and designer footwear — ideal for someone who values precision, discretion, and the art of premium craftsmanship. You’ll handle luxury brands with care, working on shoes that require exact stitching, delicate materials, and meticulous finishing. You’ll be trained to work efficiently with compact tools and machines suited for small-space operations. You’ll be trained to operate portable tools and battery-powered machines safely and efficiently within small spaces. You’ll help restore torn lining, busted eyelets, broken laces, and crushed counters with durability in mind. You’ll learn to clean, deodorize, and revitalize sneakers using brush techniques, steam tools, and sneaker-safe cleaning agents. You’ll assess each pair carefully, recommending repairs or alternatives based on structure, material, and cost. You’ll assist with protective sole installation, adhesive repairs, and preventive treatments using travel-safe materials. You’ll track common damage patterns for runners, skaters, and active clients — helping prevent future issues.

Basic Qualifications:

• Work independently or as part of a small shop team in a focused, hands-on environment.
• Perform quality control checks before returning items to ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and keep tools in good working condition.
• Diagnose shoe damage and provide customers with clear repair options and price estimates.
• Provide friendly customer service, answering questions and offering care advice for different shoe types.

Preferred:

• Willing to perform detailed work like orthotic insert adjustments or reconditioning vintage or luxury footwear.
• Values precision, durability, and tradition in every repair.
• Able to replace or repair heels, patch holes, stretch tight shoes, and shine or polish various finishes.
• Understands how to match replacement parts like soles, laces, and eyelets to maintain the original shoe design.
• Pays attention to craftsmanship and ensures repaired shoes are durable, comfortable, and presentable.
