Description:

We’re hiring a Mail Carrier Trainee to support daily operations at our city post office — perfect for someone who enjoys structured work, customer service, and learning how mail moves from counter to doorstep. You’ll begin by learning how to prepare your vehicle and route for longer trips with fewer stops but greater distances between deliveries. You’ll assist in unloading postal trucks, scanning barcodes, and placing parcels onto conveyor systems or into sorting bins. You’ll be trained to use postal systems to scan, weigh, and label items correctly for local and international destinations. You’ll drive through a mix of paved and unpaved roads, stopping at mailboxes, gates, or porches to complete deliveries. You’ll be taught how to safely approach homes, manage gated entries, and handle mailboxes of all types. You’ll be shown how to deliver in various weather conditions — from summer heat to muddy back roads or snowy driveways. You’ll assist in keeping records of misrouted items, rejected barcodes, and damaged packaging that needs inspection. You’ll be expected to maintain a courteous and professional attitude with residents, shopkeepers, and colleagues.

• Comfortable carrying mailbags, walking long distances, and making frequent stops throughout the shift.
