Description:
We’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Game Tester to join our team and help improve the quality of our games. You’ll be responsible for playing through various games, identifying bugs, glitches, and any other issues affecting gameplay. You’ll work closely with the development team to document and report any technical issues, ensuring they are fixed before release. You’ll ensure that the game runs smoothly across various platforms, ensuring compatibility and a consistent user experience. You’ll assist in providing detailed feedback on user experience, providing input on game design, controls, and mechanics. You’ll be tasked with verifying fixes and updates, making sure new features are working correctly and do not introduce new problems. You’ll test the game’s performance under different conditions, such as various network speeds, device configurations, and player interactions. You’ll assist in performance testing, evaluating the game’s load times, frame rates, and overall performance under different conditions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Play games from a user-first mindset, but test like a detective—curious, methodical, and thorough.
- Test specific game features—menus, multiplayer, achievements, physics, UI/UX—to ensure they function as expected under different scenarios.
- Stay up to date with platform-specific certification requirements (e.g., Xbox, PlayStation, iOS, Google Play) to support compliance testing.
- Participate in daily stand-ups or QA syncs to share findings, updates, and blockers with the wider team.
- Document issues clearly using bug tracking systems like Jira or TestRail, including steps to reproduce, screenshots, and severity levels.
Preferred:
- Values confidentiality when working on unreleased or NDA-protected titles.
- Can differentiate between minor annoyances and game-breaking issues.
- Willing to test the same scenario repeatedly to confirm bug fixes and consistency.
- Pays attention to game balance, logic errors, and user experience issues.
- Understands how to provide both subjective feedback and objective testing data.
Benefits:
- You’ll help create test plans, report reproduction steps, and give feedback that shapes the final product.
- Async-first culture — fewer meetings, more time for deep testing and documentation.
- Work remotely and get paid to play — yes, really — while helping make games better.
- Access to internal dev builds, early content, and unreleased features — welcome to the backstage.
- We respect testers — you’re not button mashers, you’re the last line of quality control.
You’ll play games in various environments and configurations to ensure they are thoroughly tested in all possible situations. You’ll be responsible for executing test plans, identifying edge cases, and ensuring that all potential gameplay scenarios are covered. You’ll participate in playtests and provide valuable input on the overall user experience and enjoyment of the game. You’ll work with new builds and help verify the quality of content and features before it’s released to the public. You’ll participate in user acceptance testing, ensuring the game’s final product aligns with the expectations of its target audience. You’ll stay current with new gaming trends, technologies, and industry standards to improve your testing skills and efficiency. This remote role offers flexibility, allowing you to work from home while contributing to the quality of exciting new games. If you’re passionate about gaming, attention to detail, and troubleshooting, we’d love to have you join our team of testers.
