Description:

We’re looking for a dedicated and accurate Transcriptionist to join our remote team and provide high-quality transcription services. You’ll be responsible for transcribing recordings, ensuring all dialogue, speaker labels, and background noises are accurately noted. You’ll ensure all transcripts are clear, complete, and error-free, accurately reflecting the content of the audio. You’ll ensure your transcriptions meet company standards, including accurate timestamps, speaker identification, and adherence to formatting guidelines. You’ll handle confidential and sensitive information, maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion at all times. You’ll follow client specifications and requirements, ensuring that all formatting, timestamps, and special instructions are followed. You’ll collaborate with clients to ensure that transcriptions meet their needs and are delivered promptly.

Basic Qualifications:

• Format transcripts according to specific guidelines—verbatim, clean read, time-coded, speaker-labeled, etc.
• Flag and report poor audio quality or missing content that may affect the accuracy of the final transcript.
• Use tools like Express Scribe, Otter.ai, Descript, or manual methods to complete transcriptions efficiently and precisely.
• Provide captioning or subtitle files (SRT, VTT) when needed, syncing dialogue to timecodes accurately.
• Listen to audio or video recordings and accurately convert spoken content into written text, maintaining clarity and context.

Preferred:

• Comfortable working with different types of content — interviews, podcasts, legal, medical, or academic.
• Familiar with confidentiality standards and secure handling of sensitive information.
• Uses transcription shortcuts, foot pedals, or playback tools to enhance efficiency.
• Can follow style guides such as verbatim or clean-read depending on client requirements.
• Able to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality and accuracy.

You’ll participate in training and development opportunities to improve transcription techniques and stay updated on industry trends. You’ll assist with managing and organizing files, ensuring that transcription projects are easily accessible and well-maintained.
