Description:
We’re hiring a Junior Frontend Developer Trainee — no commercial experience required, just solid basics in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and a strong desire to grow fast. You’ll work closely with designers to translate mockups into code that looks, feels, and functions exactly as intended. We’ll teach you how to read design specs, extract assets, and build UI that respects spacing, typography, and brand consistency. We’ll teach you how to break designs into components, manage props, handle state, and keep your code modular and reusable. You’ll learn how to build grid systems, use flexbox effectively, and avoid layout hacks that break in production. We’ll show you how to implement themes, tokens, grids, and utility-first CSS like Tailwind or styled-components. You’ll also learn how to keep animations lightweight and performance-friendly, even on mobile or low-end devices. You’ll gain experience working in structured codebases, committing with clarity, and following branching and review workflows. You’ll also learn how to use tools like Vite, ESLint, Prettier, and how to debug like a real dev (not just refresh endlessly).
Basic Qualifications:
- Help QA teammates and respond quickly to reported bugs or UI issues.
- Write or update simple documentation for components or workflows as you go.
- Celebrate shipping things—even if it’s “just” a tiny fix, it matters.
- Commit code regularly, open pull requests, and respond to review comments with curiosity—not ego.
- Fix layout bugs, polish animations, and make sure everything looks great on all screen sizes.
Preferred:
- Thrives in collaborative, feedback-rich environments with modern development workflows.
- Values clean code, reusability, and continuous learning in a technical role.
- Wants to grow into roles like Frontend Engineer, Full-Stack Developer, or UI Developer.
- Comfortable using CSS methodologies like BEM, utility-first frameworks (e.g. Tailwind), or pre-processors like SASS.
- Organized with task tracking tools like Trello, Jira, or Notion to stay on top of sprint work.
