Description:

We’re hiring an Automotive Locksmith to help drivers regain access to their vehicles and solve lock and key issues on the go — perfect for someone who’s fast-thinking, mechanically skilled, and confident working under pressure. You’ll respond to car lockouts, lost key scenarios, broken ignitions, and remote reprogramming requests across a variety of vehicle makes and models. You’ll be trained to pick locks, rekey cylinders, cut keys, and install or repair deadbolts, knobs, and access systems. You’ll help customers regain entry when locked out, always verifying identity and following safety protocols before proceeding. You’ll extract broken keys from ignitions and doors, replace cylinders, and repair switch assemblies as needed. You’ll be trained in managing digital locks, keypad systems, RFID access, and integration with alarm or fire exit systems. You’ll work with brands like August, Schlage, Yale, and commercial access control platforms depending on the job. You’ll log each visit, record work done, track parts used, and issue invoices or payment receipts onsite. You’ll work independently, managing your daily route and calls through a dispatch app or company phone.

Basic Qualifications:

• Take pride in securing spaces and giving people peace of mind, one lock at a time.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and local regulations.
• Offer advice on lock brands, security upgrades, or burglary prevention techniques.
• Maintain detailed service records, invoices, and logs of key codes or lock types when required.
• Diagnose issues with lock mechanisms, cylinders, or access systems and perform necessary repairs.

Preferred:

• Comfortable interpreting lock diagrams, manufacturer specs, or key code charts during service calls.
• Knowledge of safe opening techniques, combination resets, and non-destructive entry methods.
• Pays close attention to cleanliness, professionalism, and worksite safety during every job.
• Can follow blueprints, architectural drawings, or specs for large-scale keying and hardware installations.
• Values integrity, patience, and problem-solving in helping clients secure their property.

You’ll be expected to stay calm, professional, and solution-focused, especially when clients are locked out or stranded. You’ll coordinate with IT or security vendors when working on smart locks or network-connected entry systems. You’ll help educate clients on stronger lock options, safety tips, and how to avoid future emergencies. You’ll help clients feel empowered and secure with their new systems — not confused or overwhelmed by the tech. You’ll rotate on-call shifts, including nights or weekends, to respond to emergency lockout situations. You’ll be expected to keep a clean appearance and conduct yourself professionally in front of tenants, guests, or business clients. Previous locksmith or hardware experience is a plus — but we’re also ready to train quick learners with strong mechanical aptitude.
